An incredibly interesting and action-packed story about how to identify a criminal among a huge company of soldiers belonging to Frans Bunning Kok and Lieutenant Willem Reitenburg. This plot is all saturated with cruel political conspiracies that need to be unraveled as quickly as possible and save human, innocent lives. A sinister crime has occurred and it will become evidence of the most blasphemous and tragic consequences. One of the most mysterious works of art, the painting "Night Watch", created by the talented artist Rembrandt, will help to reveal this whole terrible story.

Rembrandt's pregnant wife, Saskia, tearfully asks her husband to accept the offer and paint a picture. It should be a collective portrait, where the entire company of the city militia is present, as well as well-known commanders belonging to rich Amsterdam burghers. While working on his next masterpiece, the artist begins to notice the hidden mechanisms of social society and discovers that the death of the last company captain, Piers Hasselburg, was planned in advance. He carefully encrypts all his hints on the canvas, trying to convey to others about the motives of the murderers. The position of the artist after that turns out to be not entirely enviable, because Bunning and Willem decide to take revenge on him in the most cruel way.
